As the Operations Manager, Maya supports organizational processes, systems, and technology at Education Forward DC. Maya believes that high-quality education means nurturing the whole child and that education is an incredible means to individual and societal growth. She was drawn to Education Forward DC because of the opportunity to advance access to high-quality education as a right for all children in DC and not a privilege for some.

Prior to joining Education Forward in 2023, Maya was the Operations Associate for School Readiness Consulting. Previously in her career, Maya worked as an operations consultant for a social-emotional learning curriculum company and served as the Director of Curriculum Development for a start-up school in Bethesda, MD. Maya began her career in education as a first- and second-grade teacher at that same start-up school. She holds a B.A. in Cognitive Science and a B.A. in Education Studies with a focus on Human Development from Brown University. Maya was raised in Pennsylvania but has lived in the DMV region since 2014. In her free time, she loves to read novels, dance, and cuddle with her cat Ziva.
