Erin is the Partner leading the External Relations team, which includes the development, governance, and external partnerships work of Education Forward DC. Erin was drawn to the work of Ed Forward DC because it is so aligned with her personal priorities as the parent of three current and former DC public school students (DCPS and public charter schools) and as a native Washingtonian committed to making sure the city’s future respects and equitably serves the people and communities that make up its significant past. Prior to joining Education Forward DC in July 2016, Erin was general counsel at a DC public charter school. Before that, Erin spent most of her career as a lawyer with the international law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. Earlier in her professional life, Erin worked in public broadcasting for The Kojo Nnamdi Show, The Derek McGinty Show, and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. Erin was a student teacher in college and worked for an education policy research firm in DC after graduating. Erin has served on the boards of Capitol Hill Little League, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, Savage River Farms Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation (current), and Two Rivers Public Charter School (current). Erin earned a BA in History from Brown University, and a JD, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. She is a DC native who currently lives in Ward 6 with her husband, their three children, and two dogs. Erin loves the momentum around women’s sports and especially enjoys watching women’s soccer and lacrosse.
