Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School was founded in 2008 as Washington DC’s first Mandarin Chinese language immersion school. Today, Yu Ying serves 571 students in grades PK3 through 5 in Ward 5. The school’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to create a better world by challenging them to reach their full potential in a nurturing Chinese/English educational environment.
