Caitlin is a Senior Manager on the Schools and Talent team, working to support the work of our schools, school support, and talent grantees to improve the quality of education in the city for underserved students. Caitlin was drawn to Education Forward DC because she believes in the power of schools to transform lives and is inspired by Ed Forward DC’s focus on confronting bias and racial inequity in this work.
Prior to joining Education Forward DC in 2017, Caitlin taught seventh grade social studies at KIPP DC: KEY Academy and fifth grade writing and science at E.L. Haynes. Before moving to Washington, DC, Caitlin coached student teachers working toward licensure in social studies teaching through the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Caitlin started her career at Excel Academy Charter School in East Boston, where she taught fifth grade math and fifth and sixth grade social studies. Caitlin earned a BA in History and Literature from Harvard College and a master’s degree in Learning and Teaching with a focus in Social Studies Instructional Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Caitlin is originally from Tennessee and has lived in DC since 2014. She lives in Adams Morgan with her son, daughter and husband and enjoys cooking, baking, and bad reality television.
