Molly is the Manager, Program Operations and supports grantees in improving the overall quality of education for students in Washington, DC. Molly was drawn to the work of Education Forward DC because of her commitment to dismantling oppressive structures within education and her belief in the power of individuals and communities to make systemic change. Most recently, Molly was a Special Educator at Dunbar Senior High School in Washington DC where she taught Algebra as a member of the 9th Grade Academy. Earlier in her career, she worked as an educator in the Charter sector in Chicago. Molly started their career doing marketing and recruiting for a national non-profit. Molly earned a BA in Communication Ethics and Psychology from California State University Monterey Bay and a master’s in special education from Dominican University. Originally from northern California, Molly currently lives in DC’s Petworth neighborhood. She enjoys watching basketball (Go Warriors!), playing soccer and is currently searching for the best nachos in DC.
